ACH Origination
ACH (Automated Clearing House) Origination
ACH Origination allows business customers to create electronic payments and deposits. Customers can either pay other businesses or individuals, or collect from them, if that is the nature of their business. ACH Origination is commonly used for direct deposit of payroll, vendor payments, tax payments and the collection of payments due from clients or members.
How Does ACH Origination Work?
The customer obtains authorization and gathers bank account information from their vendors, employees, and/or clients who wish to pay or be paid via the ACH network.
The bank account information is entered or uploaded through the Treasury Management Services (TMS) online platform. Once uploaded, electronic transfers can be initiated, scheduled for a future date, or made on a recurring basis.
What are the benefits of ACH Origination?
1. Reduced Rish of Physical Theft
ACH payments are electronic and can potentially eliminate the need for maintaining, issuing, and mailing physical checks, making them less vulnerable to theft or alteration during storage and/or transit
2. Account Verification
Mission Bank's TMS online platform requires secure multi-factor authentication to login, and to initiate ACH transactions. Customer can also opt in to dual control, to maintain a separation of duties, as well as ensure proper authorization while initiating transactions and sending funds
3. Transaction Limits and Controls
ACH Origination services allow users to set transaction limits, schedule payments, and set controls to prevent large or suspicious transactions.
These limits can also be tailored to specific account needs or business practices, ensuring better oversight and fraud prevention.
