Is Your Business's Social Going Nowhere? Maybe it's Time to Find a Partner!
Driving engagement on social media can be difficult for certain businesses and industries.
If you’re focused on selling B2B, or your product doesn’t have the flash that captures organic views and shares, it can feel like your efforts on social are a waste. How do you increase brand awareness, engagement, and drive sales when your product isn’t suited for easy social success?
Spotlight existing partners
Identify your best customers and partners and collaborate with them on social media. Make sure these partners fit the definition of the businesses you target for new relationships and then look at what they are doing on social to drive their own success. How can you elevate their good work while aligning your brand with theirs?
What Collaborations Work?
When highlighting a partner on social think about what would resonate with a potential new customer. Use testimonials about your product they use or the relationship you share. If you support the same industry or community events, post images of your teams and branding together. If they have posted their own content around the success of your product or their customers, share it!
Communicate
Don’t do all this in secret, reach out through your sales team or account manager and compliment the business on their social media efforts, then ask if you can share their stories or highlight your joint relationship. Share your social media calendar and strategy so their social media manager or agency can be ready to accept tags and engage with the content.
Team Up
Work with partners to create joint campaigns, such as giveaways, fundraisers, or awareness weeks. Shared content builds credibility and encourages both audiences to engage with your brand. Content collaborations also ensure both parties get what they want out of the partnership. Its’ important to resolve the questions around terminology, calls to action, and product or service descriptions before the content goes live.
Be consistent across the board
Don’t just interact with the shared or collaborative content, continue to like and share your partners unique content when appropriate. Being supportive on a consistent basis will continue to strengthen your partner relationship and show potential new customers that your brand is all in!
